Want to build AI systems for your business?AI Build Cohort #1Late OctoberGet your spot!

The teach line

We teach you to build it.

Coaching from $1,000/mo, a private lab from $3,500, or a cohort seat at $800. On your own workflows, never a generic curriculum. Your team keeps everything.

We are builders on the frontier of AI, on the ground with small and mid-sized businesses. We teach it because we build it.

Who this page is for

You have already tried, and it stalled

  • The wall

It stalls before it reaches daily use

Building it yourself does not fail on day one. Single-trigger, single-action automations work fine. It fails when the second system enters the picture. Nationally, 76% of small businesses now use AI. 14% have it fully integrated into core operations, and 73% say they would benefit from more training and implementation support.

Goldman Sachs, 10,000 Small Businesses Voices. Babson College and David Binder Research, n=1,256 US owners, January–February 2026.

  • the math

Your own time is the real price

Free tools do not make building free. The hours come out of the work you would otherwise be billing, and that is true whichever way you go.

  • The end state

A partner you outgrow on purpose

Your team keeps the workflows, the documentation and the access. No lock-in of any kind. The measure of this working is that you need us less over time, not more.

  • The stack

The environment is the first wall

Reliable internal tools need the right environment before the first workflow runs. Setting up that environment, the parts, the connections, the structure that holds the build, is part of what we teach, not a prerequisite you clear on your own.

Tool ecosystem

We start with what you have.

First question

Do you have someone who'd actually own it?

Not having a name yet is not a problem, it often points to the right room. And if the question itself is still open, the walkthrough is usually where it gets answered.

  • A nameAI Build Coaching, one person, alongside them
  • No name yetAI Build Lab, the team learns together
  • No answerBook the walkthrough first, nothing needs to be decided yet

The shape of it

A fork, not a ladder

Both arms share a front door and both end in a recurring relationship. Neither is a rung below the other, and nobody is expected to move from one to the next.

We build it

One System Build, then System Care. You own the result and we keep it running.

The Lab or the Cohort, then AI Build Coaching. Your team owns the result and can build the next one.

In writing

The commitment

Every cohort ends with a powerful, smart solution running inside your business. Your team keeps the workflows, the documentation and the access.
You leave with at least one named workflow from the agreed list. It runs on your data, in your tools, and does work someone on your team was doing by hand that morning. Not a demo. Not a slide.
Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my team learn to build automations in-house?

Yes, and roughly 76% of small businesses now use AI in some form while only 14% have it fully integrated into core operations, per Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices, January to February 2026. The gap is not access to tools. It is the time and the structure to finish.

How is this different from a generic AI course?

STOA teaches on the client's own workflows, using the same use case library it builds from for clients. Free AI literacy programmes from Google and the SBDC cover general skills well. Neither can teach a team to build the specific system their business needs.

Who should own this internally?

One named person. If a firm can name who would own the build, coaching fits. If several people need the capability, the private lab fits. If nobody can be named, the honest answer is that the teach line will fail, and STOA says so.

What does the team keep?

The workflows, the documentation, the credentials and the export. No lock-in of any kind.
