We build the piece your software won't do. And when a business needs a technology lead before a build, we act as its fractional CTO, so every technology decision, AI included, gets made with someone on your side.

Why we exist

We kept seeing the same thing.

The owner already knew what was wrong. Sometimes they had paid someone to tell them. What was missing was someone willing to build it, train the team, and still be there in month nine when the vendor pushed an update and it broke.

So that is what we do. We decide what gets built on the software you run, and then we build it. We don't sell software, and we take zero commissions from any software vendor, so we've got no stake in which.

Some clients need a technology lead before they need a build. We act as their fractional CTO.

Alejandro Morales

Alejandro has spent over a decade between business operations and technology. He works with owners directly on every engagement. STOA is based in downtown Durham, North Carolina.

I've had to start over more than once, far from home. It taught me to find a way when there isn't an obvious one. That's the job here: your software and your operations say no, and we find a way.
